Campkins Camera Centre is a privately-owned business based in the Cambridge and with retail outlets across England and Southern Ireland. It is one of the oldest independent photographic retailers in the country. Founded in 1800, A.S. Campkins initially traded as a Chemists before becoming a photographic supplier the early 1900s.

In 1966 the business was purchased by Mr Tom Howell, who continued to work a five-day week up to the year of his 94th Birthday.  Tom's son, Mr. Barry Howell, has since been passed the reins and is the current Campkins group Managing Director. Tom's Grandson Owen is also involved keeping in with traditions of a original family business. With age comes wisdom - a continued emphasis on putting the customer first, providing expert advice, and delivering superb after sales care gives Campkins the edge over its competitors.

It is these core values that allows Campkins to continue to operate successfully, despite the burgeoning presence of the many dot.com suppliers which are aggressively saturating the photography market. We now see that the market is developing in different directions and we look to help our customers out in other ways. Hence the need to fulfil our customer duties in having an efficient website. Campkins' strength lies in this unwillingness to compromise integrity and its customer-focused work ethic; don't just take our word for it, use our website or visit us today!
